`We Should improve domestic energy production`: Says ONGC Marketing Executive Director Ashok Kumar
Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Marketing Executive Director Ashok Kumar says, “…The kind of economic aspiration the country has, energy is fundamental… So, fundamentally, we should have our own domestic production, which is around 10-12% right now, which is not a good sign. These kinds of geopolitical situations will keep happening. Though we are responding and managing well, the bottom line is clear that we should improve our domestic production… Under the Samudra Manthan project, they want to explore all the unexplored areas, particularly in the deep and deeper waters… We are making concerted efforts on how much oil and gas we can find in our deep waters, e.g., Andaman… We have started drilling there… The East Coast of India has a huge potential, and we are exploring it.”
