Former South African Cricketer, Jonty Rhodes on January 23 said, "In South Africa, we grew up playing, not just cricket or football. There is a big popularity of these sports in this part of India...We stay active in South Africa, especially in our family, by playing different sports. And I think that is available, you don't have to play for your country. Whether you're a young man or a young lady, it's great to have aspirations and goals, but just keep moving. That's a great way to stay healthier."
On South Africa entering the finals of the World Test Championship for the first time, he says, "I'm a South African cricket player. I'm very happy with the Southern cricket team in the World Test Championship final. We have never been there before. It is a great effort to get ahead of some of the really strong teams in the world currently..."
