Former Hockey Player and Paris Olympics bronze medallist PR Sreejesh commented on the performance of Indian goalkeepers during the Asian Champions Trophy, which India won. He mentioned that the tournament isn't the best platform to assess goalkeepers since India is a dominant force in Asian hockey compared to other teams. Sreejesh added that the FIH Hockey Pro League will provide players with a better opportunity to showcase their skills.“Asian Champions Trophy is not the right platform where you can analyse goalkeepers because when it comes to Asian hockey, we are the dominating team comparatively and I am waiting for this Pro League to start so that I can see how these people are really going to perform because (Krishan) Pathak and Suraj (Karkera) are experienced goalkeepers and now they got freedom to perform in a better way. because they don't have the shadow of Sree bhai with them. So, there will be a healthy fight between them. So, I believe that this freedom is going to be their plus point,” said PR Sreejesh.
On being named director for Delhi franchise of Hockey India League, Former Indian Hockey Player and Paris Olympics Bronze Medallist PR Sreejesh said, "It's a new designation. I think the job doesn't change...For me, it looks quite easy because Mahesh bhai (Mahesh Bhupathi) is already there with me...But definitely, the designation is something new and the way of approaching players is something different. Being a bridge between corporates and the players is something new for me. But I think this is the time to learn something new and I started to enjoy this."
