NHPC zooms on awarding EPC contracts for 1,000 MW solar project

NHPC is currently trading at Rs. 32.05, up by 0.75 points or 2.40% from its previous closing of Rs. 31.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 31.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 32.25 and Rs. 31.40 respectively. So far 437183 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 37.55 on 22-Apr-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 25.05 on 29-Jun-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 33.75 and Rs. 30.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 31842.76 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 70.95%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 20.96% and 8.09% respectively.

NHPC has awarded EPC contracts for development of grid connected solar PV project (1,000 MW capacity) and transmission line for power evacuation to ISTS sub-station along with comprehensive operations and maintenance for 5 years under Tranche-III of CPSU Scheme Phase-11. Letters of Award have been issued to Adani Infra, Tata Power Solar Systems and SSEL-ASR JV with cumulative contract price of Rs 6,604.42 crore.

Adani Infra (India) got an order for 600 MW capacity with total contract price of Rs 4,295.64 crore in the state of Gujarat. Tata Power Solar Systems bagged an order for 300 MW capacity with total contract price of Rs 1,731.57 crore in the state of Rajasthan. SSEL-ASR JV got an order for 100 MW capacity with total contract price of Rs 577.21 crore in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

NHPC is engaged in electric power generation by hydroelectric power plants. The company is also engaged in contracts, project management and consultancy works.
