Women`s Asian Champions Trophy 2023: Japan women`s hockey team receives traditional welcome in Ranchi
The Japan women’s hockey team arrived at Ranchi on October 22 to participate in the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2023. Upon their arrival, the Japan hockey team received a traditional welcome at the airport. The hockey players grooved to the beat of traditional music of Jharkhand.
Japan Women’s Hockey Team Captain, Yuri Nagai thanked Hockey India for the welcome they received. Talking to the media, she said, “...I think we are well prepared for the games... Thank you for welcoming us. We are trying to aim for number one...”
Talking about the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2023 and the Olympic Qualifiers for the Women’s Hockey team to be held in Ranchi, Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh said, “This became possible because of our CM Hemant Soren... I had discussed with the World Hockey Federation that if this is happening in India, then I will organize it. I talked with CM Hemant Soren... Our stadium is ready... We will try to make this event successful, and our women’s India (Hockey) team should qualify for the Paris Olympics.The security arrangements are also in place for the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2023. Ranchi SP Raj Kumar Mehta informed that the police have made parallel preparations for the teams as it is time for Durga Puja.“This is also time for (Durga) puja... But we have made parallel preparations for the teams...We have deployed a separate force for the games...We have focused on stadiums and hotels...We will make the organization (of games) successful...” said Ranchi SP Raj Kumar Mehta.
