Wipro surges on subscribing 9.95% stake in FPEL

Wipro is currently trading at Rs. 421.05, up by 13.45 points or 3.30% from its previous closing of Rs. 407.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 408.55 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 421.30 and Rs. 408.55 respectively. So far 143313 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 443.60 on 15-Sep-2023 and a 52 week low of Rs. 351.85 on 17-Apr-2023.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 423.80 and Rs. 403.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 216263.81 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 72.91%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 13.89% and 10.93% respectively.

Wipro has subscribed 9.95% equity share in FPEL Ujwal (FPEL) on October 10, 2023. The objective of acquisition is to enhance the proportion of usage of renewable energy for its offices in Karnataka. This project is expected to help its move closer to goal of becoming Net Zero by 2040 and 100% renewable energy for purchased electricity by 2030. On September 01, 2023, the company had signed an agreement to subscribe up to 9.95% stake in FPEL.
