Nifty 50 is holding the lower band of its 2.5-year consolidation after a ~17% correction, with 22,000 and the weekly 200 EMA (support since 2003 outside GFC/Covid) acting as the floor. A small base breakout signals a bullish reversal; the tone remains positive above 22,700, with upside toward 23,800. Internally, the bounce is broad, but the larger trend is not repaired—we are in a Repair Phase: 35% of stocks sit near 52-week lows vs only 6% near highs, and just ~25% trade above their 27/54 EMAs. Posture is selective at half size: buy leaders on dips (Pharma, private banks, capital markets, transport infra, retail platforms) and sell laggards into strength (Staples, Cement, PSU Power/Finance, OMCs, Life Insurance).

Market Internals — Repair Phase

* 52W distribution: Slab 1 (near low) 35% | Slab 2 21% | Slab 3 23% | Slab 4 15% | Slab 5 (near high) 6%

* MA breadth: above 9 EMA 52% | 27 EMA 28% | 54 EMA 24% | 108 EMA 27% | 216 EMA 36%; 54×216 bullish crossover in 47% of stocks

* Trend buckets (Nifty LargeMid 250): Full uptrend 22 | Uptrend resuming 16 | Pullback in uptrend 80 | Early reversal 19 | Bounce in downtrend 61 | Downtrend 48

* Upgrade to early recovery: Stocks above 27/54 EMA >40% (from ~25%) and stocks up over 3M >40% (from 27%). Downgrade: weekly participation 25% of stocks below weekly support.

* Market-level trigger: Slab 5 >15–20% and Slab 1 <20% needed for a meaningful bullish breadth signal—far from current 6%/35%.

Sector Positioning

* Long bias: Pharma, private banks, capital markets, transport infra, retail platforms. Leaders (A bucket): TECHM, KOTAKBANK, COFORGE, HAL, PERSISTENT, DLF.

* Avoid/underweight: Staples, Cement, PSU Power and Finance, OMCs, Life Insurance—wait for migration from Slab 1 to Slab 2.

* Sector momentum (top 5): Media and Entertainment, Textiles, Capital Goods, Services, Healthcare. Bottom: Construction Materials, Construction, Power, Diversified, Realty.

* IT: Early reversal across large-caps (TCS, INFY, HCLTECH, WIPRO) but 7–10% stretched above the 54 EMA —avoid chasing.

* Relative-value pairs (long/short): Pvt banks / PSU banks | Midcap IT / Large-cap IT | 2W / PV | Capital markets / PSU NBFCs | Platform retail / DMART

Nifty 50: The index has a correction profile of around 17%, followed by an upside move. The index is trading at almost the lower band of 2.5-year consolidation phase, with the 22,000level acting as strong support level.

Nifty's weekly 200 EMA has acted as strong support since 2003, except during major crises such as the GFC and Covid.

Nifty has given a small base breakout, indicating a bullish reversal. The index maintains a bullish tone above the 22,700 level. It faces a mild hurdle at 23,200 level, followed by 23,500 and 23,800. In the broader context, the index is bullish above 22,700 level, with upside potential up to 23,800 level.
