SpiceJet jumps on completing payment of $1.5 million to Credit Suisse

SpiceJet is currently trading at Rs. 39.30, up by 0.92 points or 2.40% from its previous closing of Rs. 38.38 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 39.84 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 40.00 and Rs. 38.85 respectively. So far 1989397 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 45.35 on 16-Sep-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 22.65 on 23-May-2023.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 41.70 and Rs. 36.38 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2688.67 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 58.98% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.36% and 40.67% respectively.

SpiceJet has complied with the directive of the Supreme Court by remitting $1.5 million to Credit Suisse. The payment was executed on September 14, 2023. The airline had already paid a total of $8 million to Credit Suisse.

Earlier, the company had paid Rs 100 crore to Kal Airways’ promoter Kalanithi Maran, as part of a Rs 380 crore arbitral award order, following a directive from the Delhi High Court on September 11, 2023, instructing the low-cost airline to fulfill the payment obligation.

SpiceJet is among the first private companies that stepped into the Indian aviation sector.
