In a bid to make women from the families of police personnel self-reliant, Assistant Commissioner of Police Manjita Vanzara in collaboration with NGO started a skill development centre in the State Reserve Police (SRP) premises in Ahmedabad’s Naroda. Under this centre, women have been getting free training in tailoring work, beauty parlours, pottery work and making leather purses. These women also started their businesses after getting hands-on training.
