Salt is not the enemy, just a pinch can change the quality of your drinking water

Drinking water mixed with a pinch of salt is very beneficial for health as well as skin. Water with a balanced amount of salt keeps the body hydrated, strengthens the digestive system and makes the skin glow.

However, excessive salt intake can be harmful, so it should be used carefully.

Salt water hydrates the body faster. Drinking plain water sometimes does not provide enough minerals to the body, but the sodium present in salt helps in delivering water to the cells. It maintains energy in the body and is also helpful in detox. It provides relief from stomach problems like flatulence, constipation and indigestion, due to which food is digested easily. Salt water is also beneficial for bone health. The minerals and alkaline properties present in it strengthen the bones. It also helps in keeping the liver and kidney clean.

Celebrity nutritionist Pooja Makhija explains, "For a long time we have been told that salt is harmful for health, but this is not entirely true. The sodium present in salt is very important for our body. It keeps our nerves, muscles and heartbeat smooth. Without sodium the body cannot function properly. However, highly processed salt, which is found in junk food or packaged food, can harm health. But natural salt, such as sea salt or Himalayan pink salt, is beneficial for the body. These salts are rich in minerals and help maintain health.

According to a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2017, a diet with very low sodium can cause fatigue, dizziness and mental weakness. It can also increase stress hormones and insulin resistance. Therefore, it is not right to give up salt completely. What is important is balance and quality. Use natural salt instead of refined table salt. Understand the needs of your body and instead of considering salt as an enemy, include it in your diet in balanced quantities. It is not harmful for your health. It will make it better.

Not only this, salt water is no less than a boon for the skin. Washing the face with salt water makes the skin soft and shiny. The antibacterial and antifungal properties of salt get rid of acne and pimples. It also helps in removing dead skin and maintaining moisture in the skin, which removes dryness.
