Rupee weakens against US dollar on Tuesday
Indian rupee weakened against the US dollar on Tuesday tracking weakness in domestic equities following sustained foreign fund outflows, with data showed that Foreign Institutional Investors were sold shares worth Rs 549.37 crore on Monday. Moreover, firm American currency overseas ahead of US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's speech later this week, also weighed on rupee sentiments.
The partially convertible currency is currently trading at 83.26, weaker by 5 paise from its previous close of 83.21 on Monday. The currency touched a high and low of 83.2650 and 83.2250 respectively.
