Rupee trades flat against US dollar on Tuesday

Indian rupee was trading flat against the US dollar on Tuesday amid subdued equity market with caution ahead of key economic data releases that will provide further clues on global interest rate outlook. Moreover, foreign fund outflows, higher level of crude oil prices and ongoing geopolitical tensions in the middle east also kept the Indian currency under pressure. Foreign Institutional Investors were net sellers in the capital markets on Monday as they sold shares worth Rs 285.15 crore on a net basis, exchange data showed.

The partially convertible currency is currently trading flat at its previous close of 82.89 on Monday. The currency touched a high and low of 82.8950 and 82.87 respectively.
