Power Grid Corporation moves up on emerging as successful bidder for Gujarat transmission project
Power Grid Corporation Of India is currently trading at Rs. 266.35, up by 1.35 points or 0.51% from its previous closing of Rs. 265.00 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 266.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 267.50 and Rs. 265.80 respectively. So far 65972 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 324.80 on 27-Apr-2026 and a 52 week low of Rs. 250.05 on 02-Feb-2026.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 270.95 and Rs. 261.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 247675.08 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.34%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 45.02% and 3.64% respectively.
Power Grid Corporation of India has been declared as successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding to establish Inter-State Transmission System for the project namely ‘Transmission system for Integration of Power from RE Projects in Lakadia REZ in Gujarat-Phase II (7500MW)’ on Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis, at quoted annual transmission charges of Rs 1,152.49 crore. The Letter of Intent (LoI) has been received by Power Grid Corporation of India on September 3, 2026.
The project comprises establishment of new 765/400kV Lakadia-II Sub-station in the state of Gujarat. Further, the project involves construction of 765kV transmission lines traversing through the state of Gujarat along with the associated equipment and bays. The project also involves installation & commissioning of Synchronous condenser at Lakadia-II Sub-station.
