Power Grid Corporation moves up on emerging as successful bidder for Rajasthan transmission project
Power Grid Corporation Of India is currently trading at Rs. 269.40, up by 1.90 points or 0.71% from its previous closing of Rs. 267.50 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 269.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 270.95 and Rs. 268.50 respectively. So far 160910 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 324.80 on 27-Apr-2026 and a 52 week low of Rs. 250.05 on 02-Feb-2026.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 270.95 and Rs. 261.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 250697.78 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.34%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 45.02% and 3.64% respectively.
Power Grid Corporation of India has been declared as successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding to establish inter-state transmission system for the project namely ‘Transmission system for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-5: 6 GW) (Barmer Complex) Barmer-II: 6 GW (Solar) (LCC Configuration)’ on Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis, at quoted Annual Transmission Charges of Rs 3,244.33 crore. The Letter of Intent (LoI) has been received by the company on September 02, 2026.
The Project comprises establishment of 6000 MW, +/- 800 kV HVDC terminals at Barmer-II (Rajasthan) & South Kalamb S/s (Maharashtra) along with augmentation of South Kalamb S/s. Further, the project involves construction of +/- 800 kV HVDC bipole line between Barmer-II & South Kalamb (around 1000 km) traversing through the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra, and construction of 400kV transmission lines traversing through the state of Rajasthan along with the associated bays. The project also involves installation of two SynCon units at Barmer-II PS along with the associated bays.
