I applaud the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting a progressive budget especially for the insurance sector. The announcement of increasing the FDI limit in the insurance sector to 100 percent is a welcome step as that will help in attracting more investments in the country. Being a part of the sector, I understand that this move will particularly be beneficial for the early stage insurtech start-ups which are looking to raise funds.
Other provisions for MSMEs will further foster growth across all major sectors and support economic development.
