Below the Perspective on Evening Markets 28th 2025 by Mr. Vikram Kasat, Head - Advisory, PL Capital
“Today, the S&P BSE Sensex closed slightly lower, easing 0.18% to around 84,628 as broad-based profit booking outweighed selective gains. On the brighter side, metals (+1.2%) and PSU banks (+1%) led sectoral outperformers, supported by renewed optimism over a potential US–China trade agreement and speculation of an FDI limit hike in state-run banks. From a research standpoint, two key trends stand out: renewed investor interest in themes linked to global trade momentum (metals) and domestic policy shifts (PSU banks). However, near-term caution is advisable as elevated valuations and uncertainty around the upcoming US rate decision could trigger volatility.
Looking ahead, we advocate a balanced approach — maintaining focused exposure to cyclical sectors while preserving portfolio discipline amid an increasingly fragile market backdrop.”
