Monthly Rollover Report 26th October 2026 by Axis Securities Ltd
NIFTY HIGHLIGHTS
Nifty October rollover settled lower at 45.4% on Friday versus the previous 50.1%, trailing three-month (47.9%) and six-month (47.0%) averages, suggesting participants are cautiously paring back aggressive directional bets. Bank Nifty October transition slipped to 48.1% on Friday against 53.0% previously, falling short of quarterly (52.2%) and half-yearly (51.4%) means, indicating lingering hesitation and a defensive banking stance. Friday's market wide October rollover logged 58.5%, dipping below the previous 59.5% and six-month average of 60.0% but eclipsing the three-month 58.3% metric, portraying a resilient, selectively bullish underlying tone. October's carry of cost expanded to 0.38% on Friday, a slight premium over the preceding expiry's 0.33%, implying buyers remain willing to absorb higher execution expenses to sustain exposures. The option data for the October series indicates a strong Call Open Interest (OI) at the 23,000-strike price, followed by 22,800. In contrast, a substantial concentration of Put OI is observed at 22,500, with additional levels at 22,000. This suggests the likely range for the current expiry is between 22,800 and 22,000.
