Labour Secy Chandra Bhushan Kumar highlights wider worker protection under New Labour Framework
Speaker 1: This is a very good initiative and this is important for the whole country from that perspective and all of us are when we are working very hard for Viksit Bharat 2047.
Speaker 1: then employment becomes very key figure there. And I was very happy to share what government is doing and what we intend to expand in that particular sector. And we had very interesting inputs from our co-panelists on this issue also who are mostly from the industry background and very established industry background.
Speaker 1: and they could share that how it can be built upon because in the new labor ecosystem there is always a possibility for having a wider you can say coverage, wider understanding and of course when we are looking at the new social protection design for everybody. It's not only for organized sector. It's for unorganized sector, for gig worker, for platform worker. So definitely this is going to bring
Speaker 1: more respectability to all the areas and our workforce is going to be more certain in their present and future both. So that's the kind of thing we had the interaction and it's a work in progress and we hope to have more continued engagement with our industry partner. Thank you.

Speaker 2: So, the wage ceiling has been revised to ?35,000 from ?18,000. So what's your comment on that? How is it going to impact the employees?
Speaker 1: Yes. Yes.

Speaker 1: No, it's a it's a going to be very win-win situation for everybody because wage limit has already gone up, minimum wage limit in most of the states and all those things.
Speaker 1: and more people who are on the margin, they are going to be covered in this particular social protection major. And when you look at the whole design of PPFO, that you get provident fund, you get pension, you get insurance. So this kind of social protection brings more stability in your work working atmosphere. So this is something industry is very welcoming on this issue. Workers are of course they are going to have assured
