The District Administration of Udhampur has installed the first-ever lift for people with disabilities at the Deputy Commissioner office complex. This initiative aimed to eliminate accessibility challenges faced by disabled people and ensure their seamless interaction with government officials. Earlier, the lack of lift or ramp facilities posed significant hurdles for people with disabilities trying to access offices on other floors. Recognising this issue, the administration utilized funds to install the user-friendly lift, marking a significant step towards creating an inclusive government infrastructure.
