HDFC AMC announces reclassification of REITs as equity related instruments
HDFC Asset Management Company (AMC) has addendum to the Scheme Information Documents (SIDs) / Key Information Memorandums (KIMs) of select schemes of HDFC Mutual Fund.
HDFC Mutual Fund has informed that to facilitate greater participation by Mutual Funds and Specialized Investment Funds (SIFs), Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), which were earlier classified as hybrid instruments, have been reclassified as ‘equity-related instruments’ vide SEBI (Mutual Funds) (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2025 dated October 31, 2025 and SEBI circular dated November 28, 2025 (the SEBI Circular).
As a result, with effect from January 1, 2026 the changes shall be made effective in the Scheme Information Documents (SIDs) and Key Information Memoranda (KIMs) of various schemes.
All other terms and conditions of the aforesaid schemes remain unchanged.
