Godrej Industries inches up on account of short covering

Godrej Industries traded higher on account of short covering as traders preferred to buy stock at lower level.

The stocks is currently trading at Rs. 798.75, up by 8.20 points or 1.04% from its previous closing of Rs. 790.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 810.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 810.00 and Rs. 724.35 respectively. So far 14226 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 989.90 on 02-May-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 462.80 on 09-Jun-2023.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 854.65 and Rs. 724.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 25824.18 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 67.16%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 12.79% and 20.05% respectively.

Recently, the company has reported net loss at Rs 154.10 crore for the fourth quarter (Q4) ended March 31, 2024 as compared to net loss of Rs 25.75 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 22.91% at Rs 707.89 crore for Q4FY24 as compared Rs 918.23 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

On consolidated basis, the company has reported net loss at Rs 25.34 crore for fourth quarter ended March 31, 2024 as against net profit of Rs 562.16 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 0.35% at Rs 5102.96 crore for Q4FY24 as compared Rs 5085.24 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

For the year ended March 31, 2024, the company has reported net loss at Rs 202.52 crore as against net profit of Rs 232.57 crore for the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 31.70% at Rs 3112.53 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 4556.96 crore for year ended March 31, 2023.

For the year ended March 31, 2024, on the consolidated basis, the company has reported 58.11% fall in its net profit at Rs 595.16 crore as compared to Rs 1420.64 crore for the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 1.88% at Rs 18096.98 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 17762.36 crore for year ended March 31, 2023.
