Former Indian Coach Israil Gurung Shares Roadmap for India`s Football Growth and Asian Success
When asked what can be done to make India an Asia Cup powerhouse and eventually a World Cup qualifying team, former Indian footballer and FC Goa youth team coach Israil Gurung says, "If you ask me, this is the question that people start to raise every 4 years. But what kind of work we do? As soon as the World Cup gets over, for the next 4 years, are we ready to work in a certain kind of positive way? This is my question. I am not worried about World Cup, I want to see India playing in the Asian level continuously. Earlier India used to dominate in SAFF (South Asian Football Federation) hands down but now we have started struggling. There is something wrong going on. So, I feel that keeping individual ego aside, they should come together and look for the betterment of Football..."
