First Peshwai of Mahakumbh: Juna Akhara`s ceremonial procession begins with grandeur
The first Peshwai (ceremonial procession) of saints and sages for the Mahakumbh commenced today in Prayagraj, marking a significant moment in the spiritual journey of the event. The Juna Akhara, one of the largest and oldest akharas, is all set to enter its designated camp amidst traditional fanfare and religious zeal.
As per age-old customs, the Naga Sadhus of the Juna Akhara lead the grand procession, carrying the revered Ramta Panch, divine idols, and the symbolic Chandra Prakash and Surya Prakash spears. The procession, vibrant with spiritual energy, is accompanied by traditional band music and chants, creating an aura of devotion and festivity.
Preparations for the Peshwai have been underway since early morning, with thousands of devotees, onlookers, and pilgrims gathering to witness the spectacle. The Naga Sadhus, draped in ash and saffron, showcased their disciplined traditions and unshakable faith, marching with divine grace and splendour.
