Devson Catalyst has successfully developed its Ammonia Decomposition Catalyst through its in-house R&D and technical capabilities. The company has received commercial orders for the newly developed product from NMDC and Tata Steel, following customer evaluation and approval. The order received from Tata Steel represents the first order for this product from Tata Steel.
The Ammonia Decomposition Catalyst is a comparatively higher-value product within the company’s existing catalyst portfolio. An Ammonia Decomposition Catalyst helps break down Ammonia (NH3) into Hydrogen (H2) and Nitrogen (N2) at high temperatures. When used for hydrogen production, it acts as a reforming catalyst, enabling hydrogen to be recovered from ammonia. The catalyst also helps in decomposing ammonia present in industrial process gases before downstream processing.
