Market Outlook: Indian markets witnessed a positive session, with the Nifty 50 gaining 0.64% and closing at 24,232, supported by buying interest in Eternal (+2.48%), Shriram Finance (+2.01%) and Kotak Bank (+1.82%). Market breadth improved with NSE advance-decline ratio at 2,106:1,402 and BSE at 2,373:1,951, indicating positive participation across the broader market. Nifty Smallcap 100 index gained 0.68%, led by Netweb (+7.00%), Brigade (+6.50%) and Meesho (+6.65%). However, global cues remained mixed, with US markets declining overnight as S&P 500, Dow Jones and Nasdaq 100 fell 0.86%, 1.31% and 0.72%, respectively. Gift Nifty declined 0.02%, indicating a flat to marginally negative opening.

 

FII & DII Activity: Institutional activity remained mixed, with FIIs/FPI turning net sellers with an outflow of ?583 crore, while DIIs continued their buying support with net inflows of ?3,538 crore. Domestic institutional participation provided stability despite foreign investor selling pressure.

 

Sector Activity: Sectoral performance remained broadly positive, with Nifty IT (+0.8%), FMCG

(+0.8%), Financial Services (+0.7%), Consumer Durables (+0.6%) and Auto (+0.4%) gaining during the session. Private Banks outperformed with Nifty Private Bank index rising 0.9%, while Pharma, Healthcare, Metals and Manufacturing indices also remained positive.

 

F&O Activity: Long build-up was witnessed in PNB Housing, SAIL, Jindal Steel, Amber Enterprises and Paytm, indicating fresh buying interest. Short build-up was observed in Godfrey Phillips, CAMS, REC, KEI Industries and PFC. Long unwinding was seen in DMart, Astral, PI Industries, Sona BLW and Nestle India, whereas short covering emerged in Waaree Energies, Lodha, IREDA, Swiggy and Mazagon Dock.

Susan Electricals: Q1FY27 net profit turned positive at ?639 lakh, supported by 279% YoY revenue growth and operating margin improvement to 11.90%. Management targets 60% capacity expansion to 12,000 km per annum by February 2027, backed by a ?142 crore order book.
