Market Outlook

The Indian market remained under sustained selling pressure for the third consecutive week, dragging the key benchmark Nifty 50 index towards the 24,000 zone. However, a recovery from the lower levels helped the index hold above the rising trendline support. The Nifty 50 settled the week at 24,175, registering a weekly decline of 0.31%. The banking index also extended its decline by nearly half a percent, largely weighed down by sustained selling pressure in heavyweight HDFC Bank. On the derivatives front, fresh put writing was witnessed at the 24,000 and 24,100 strikes, indicating immediate downside support. On the upside, major call writing remained aligned with the 24,300 and 24,500 strikes, suggesting an immediate resistance zone.
