Market Outlook

The key benchmark Nifty50 index extended its decline by nearly a percent, as it remain failed to hold the crucial 23,600 support zone and slipped towards the 23,400 level. The banking index also mirrored the broader weakness, declining 0.85%, with notable selling pressure in HDFC Bank. Continued weakness in heavyweight banking counters could further weigh on the benchmark. On the derivatives front, fresh Call writing emerged at the 23,500 and 23,600 strikes, indicating that the former support zone has now shifted into an immediate resistance area and may cap any recovery. Overall, sustained selling pressure and broad-based weakness have strengthened the bearish bias.
