While the BSE has proposed to change the expiry of contracts on Tuesday, the NSE has opted for Thursday. This approach should ensure that there are no expiries on week-ends. Some traders preferred to stay out of the market on week-end to avoid unforeseen risks. This should ensure less volatility compared to earlier. This change should also allow traders to plan their trades better, since liquidity is expected to go up; and traders may get better arbitrage opportunities.
