In the Union Budget, one of the prominent focussed areas is boosting Manufacturing in India and furthering “Make in India”.
- A scheme is expected to be implemented to support design capacity, component manufacturing and machinery required for production of non-leather quality footwear and support for leather footwear and products.
- To make India a global hub for toys, a scheme is expected to implement for the development of clusters, skills, and a manufacturing ecosystem.
- The government has announced incentives for power distribution reforms, allowing states an additional borrowing contingent on implementing reforms in electricity distribution and intra-state transmission. This is likely to boost power equipment demand.
- Govt also plans to develop 100 GW of nuclear energy by 2047 which is expected to create demand for nuclear power equipment.
