Antony Waste Handling Cell (AWHCL) has secured contract valued at approximately Rs 77 crore for bio-mining MSW in City & Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO). Under the banner of AWHCL, its subsidiary Antony Lara Enviro Solutions will spearhead the project, focusing on reclaiming the entire dumping area and deploying cutting-edge mechanical processes for resource recovery.

The primary objective of the project is to reclaim the dumping area and process an estimated 8.6 lakh tonnes of legacy MSW within a 730-day timeframe. This endeavor reflects AWHCL's unwavering dedication to environmental conservation and the adoption of sustainable waste management practices.

Bio-remediation stands at the core of the project, involving the implementation of bio-mining and mechanical methodologies to reclaim land previously utilized for garbage dumping. The waste will undergo meticulous segregation at a Material Recovery Facility, championing resource recovery by sorting various materials such as RDF (refuse-derived fuel), compost, inert materials, and soil.

Antony Waste Handling Cell is one of the top five players in the Indian MSW (municipal solid waste) management industry with an established track record of many years, providing full spectrum of MSW services.
