Torrent Power rises on the bourses
Torrent Power is currently trading at Rs. 481.30, up by 1.35 points or 0.28% from its previous closing of Rs. 479.95 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 475.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 484.90 and Rs. 473.70 respectively. So far 37829 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 606.05 on 15-Dec-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 360.55 on 19-Feb-2021.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 493.70 and Rs. 470.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 23132.09 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 53.57%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.20% and 17.24% respectively.
Credit rating agency -- CRISIL has upgraded the long term credit rating of non-convertible debentures and long term bank facilities of Torrent Power to ‘AA+/Stable’ from ‘AA/Positive’. The agency has also has reaffirmed its rating on the short-term bank facilities and commercial paper programme at ‘A1+’.
The upgrade reflects the company’s continued strong profitability, which along with prudent and staggered capital expenditure plans have resulted in the sustained improvement in the leverage levels, with net debt/EBITDA further improving to 1.7 times on December 2021 from 2.0 times as on March 2021. The rating upgrade also factors in expectation of continued strong profitability and net debt/EBITDA sustaining below 2.6 times, despite outflow towards acquisitions.
