“India’s approach of opening vaccination to above 18 is a progressive move built on epidemiological & scientific pillars guided by WHO. However we will be required to formulate a dynamic model to ensure availability by ramping up manufacturing, for which ICMR must be involved to address pricing, procurement and administration to cover the vulnerability priority groups. It will help if ICMR is empowered and decision is taken towards getting foreign vaccine manufacturers to supply with the aim to vaccinate maximum population."
