Shyam Metalics Q4 net profit down 45.94% at Rs 116.11 cr

The company reported standalone net profit of Rs 116.11 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2022 as compared to Rs 214.78 crore in the same period last year, registering a year-on-year decline of 45.94 per cent. Net revenue of the company rose moderately by 9.90 per cent at Rs 1,182.11 crore in January-March quarter of this fiscal as against Rs 1,075.67 crore in the corresponding period last year.
During January-March quarter, operating expenses increased by 18.29 per cent to Rs 927.92 crore from Rs 784.44 crore in year ago period. Other Income dipped by 79.96 per cent at Rs 9.14 crore versus (Mar'21 Rs 45.60 crore). Operating Profit slipped by 12.72 per cent to Rs 254.19 crore as against Rs 291.23 crore in the year ago period, while Operating Profit Margin (OPM) contracted year-on-year to 20.58 per cent in March quarter. Interest declined by 56.84 per cent y-o-y to Rs 2.05 crore, while Taxation increased by 55.62 per cent at Rs 110.66 crore (Mar'21 Rs 71.11 crore).
