Rupee trades flat against US dollar on Tuesday

Indian rupee was trading flat against the US dollar on Tuesday tracking weakness of the American currency at overseas market with optimism that the US Federal Reserve will not hike interest rates this month. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the capital market on Monday as they offloaded shares worth Rs 700.98 crore, exchange data showed. Meanwhile, investors are cautiously awaiting RBI's monetary policy later this week with expectations that RBI to keep the repo rate unchanged at 6.5%.

 

The partially convertible currency is currently trading flat at its previous close of 82.63 on Monday. The currency touched a high and low of 82.64 and 82.5625 respectively.
