Below is perspective on Tokenisation Mr Jagdish Kumar, Senior Vice President, Products and Solutions, Worldline India

“Ready for Tokenisation ahead of the RBI’s deadline of September 30, 2022

Worldline India is ready with the Tokenisation Service for the last 2 months, and traffic for most of the big merchants has been enabled for Tokenisation. We haven’t received any complaints or issues from any of our merchants and hence the migration is in progress. We should be able to finish the enablement of tokenisation flow for all our merchants, well before the deadline.

We have also built sufficient redundancy and have designed the solution with scalability in mind, and hence we are completely ready from all perspectives. The performance and success ratio are also on the higher side across merchants and segments as expected, and hence the entire ecosystem wants to quickly migrate and comply with the Tokenisation requirements, which based on the received feedback and our own experience looks perfectly possible. We are anyways completely geared up and confident about our preparedness and commitment to comply with the new guidelines/deadline.

Process of Token to help end users with secured payments

Card Vaulting by way of Tokenisation will take the card security to the next level across the Payments ecosystem, as the sensitive data will be managed only by schemes/Issuers. It is in-fact lends higher credibility to seamless and secure payments experience. We have seen higher success ratios across merchant segments which is an additional highlight.

Changes needs to be done in the infrastructure

Additional development and changes required in all existing platforms, in order to support tokenisation flows, and appropriate addition in infra required depending on the scale and volume of traffic handled by the specific Aggregator/PG.”
