Nifty
* Nifty started the week on a volatile note and lost over half a percent
* Most of the sectoral indices traded in line with the benchmark. Metal, Realty and IT were among the top losers.
* Expecting some respite in Nifty. View would negate if it closes below 16,800.
* Volatility will remain high. Focus should be more on risk management.
Banknifty
* Banking index traded in tandem with the benchmark index and shed over half a percent.
* Mixed trend continuing among the banking space. Kotak Bank and Federal Bank ended in green while HDFC Bank, SBIN and Indusind Bank remained under pressure.
* Strong hurdle intact around 39800-40100. Plan trades accordingly.
* ·With in banking basket, Axis Bank, Federal Bank and Kotak Bank look comparatively better.
