LIC gains as its total premium rises 17% to Rs 2.32 lakh crore during FY23

Life Insurance Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 552.65, up by 3.35 points or 0.61% from its previous closing of Rs. 549.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 551.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 556.45 and Rs. 550.95 respectively. So far 15746 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 920.00 on 17-May-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 530.20 on 29-Mar-2023.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 556.00 and Rs. 545.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 349962.12 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 96.50%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.98% and 2.52% respectively.

Life Insurance Corporation of India’s (LIC) total premium rose 17 per cent to Rs 2.32 lakh crore during FY2022-23. The same stood at Rs 1.99 lakh crore in the year-ago period. In terms of premium collected, it continues to hold a market share of 62.58 per cent as on March 2023.

LIC's premium growth for the fiscal 2023 is the second highest among its listed peers, with HDFC Life leading with 18.83 per cent, SBI Life at 16.22 per cent and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company at 12.55 per cent.
