Tata Consumer to buy Bisleri International for Rs 6,000-7,000 crore: Report Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) will reportedly acquire Bisleri International for an estimated Rs 6,000-7,000 crore. Ramesh Chauhan, chairman of Bisleri International, does not have a successor to take Bisleri to the next level, according to a report in the Economic Times (ET). He has earlier sold brands like Thums Up, Gold Spot, and Limca to Coca-Cola. Bisleri, which is India's largest packaged water company, is expected to have a turnover of Rs 2,500 crore with a profit of Rs 220 crore in FY23.

Prosus posts $80-million loss on investment in PayU India Technology investor Prosus on Wednesday reported widening of its consolidated trading loss to USD 80 million, about Rs 654 crore, on account of investment in PayU India business during first half of the current fiscal. The Netherlands-based investor firm, however, registered a 59 per cent growth in total payments volume (TPV) at USD 28 billion, about Rs 2.29 lakh crore, in India.. PayU revenue increased to USD 183 million, about Rs 1,497 crore.

Volvo Car India to hike prices up to 1.8% to offset rising input costs Luxury car maker Volvo Car India on Thursday said it will increase prices of its three models -- XC90, XC60 and XC40 Recharge -- by up to 1.8 per cent with effect from November 25 in order to offset the impact of rising input costs. The prices of the S90 Petrol Mild-Hybrid, and XC40 Petrol Mild-Hybrid however remain unchanged.

Dubai-based Coral Energy turns focus to Asia, halts trade in Russian crude Dubai-based trader Coral Energy said it is looking at expanding its business in Asia where energy demand is set to rise, and has stopped dealing in Russian crude oil since western sanctions were imposed on some Moscow entities in July. The trading house emerged as one of the key suppliers of Russian crudes to Asia after some western entities shunned purchase of Russian oil following its invasion of Ukraine in late February.

Amazon to shut down its edtech platform in India, refund customers Amazon said on Thursday it will shut down its edtech offering in India from August 2023 and refund the full fees to those enrolled in the current academic batch.

The e-commerce giant launched Amazon Academy in January 2022 to cater to students preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) to engineering colleges. The move enabled it to take on top edtech companies such as Byju’s, Unacademy, Vedantu and traditional education institutes and tap the country's $180-billion education sector which has gone online to adapt to the new reality.

Hackers exploited discontinued web server at Tata Power: Microsoft Microsoft has warned that state-sponsored hackers are attacking critical energy infrastructure in India via exploiting a discontinued web server, with the most recent attack it observed was on Tata Power in October. Microsoft security researchers discovered a vulnerable open-source component in the "Boa web server" still being used in routers, security cameras and popular software development kits (SDKs), despite its retirement in 2005.
