Bajaj Auto looks to sell its e-scooter Chetak from 75 locations in FY23

Witnessing a robust demand for its electric scooter Chetak, Bajaj Auto plans to scale up the sales infrastructure for the model to 75 locations across the country in the current fiscal. The Pune-based firm had brought back its iconic Chetak scooter in electric avatar in October 2019.

 

Samsung likely to log $11 bn in profit on robust chip business in Q2

Samsung Electronics is expected to report more than 15 percent rise in operating profit for the second quarter, helped by strong semiconductor business despite slowing demand for smartphones and home appliances, a report showed on Tuesday. The world's largest memory chip maker is forecast to log 14.5 trillion won ($11.1 billion) in operating profit in the April-June period, up 15.6 per cent from a year ago, according to the survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. Samsung's Q2 sales are estimated to increase by 20.6 per cent to 76.8 trillion won, while net income is likely to jump 19.8 per cent to 11.5 trillion won, the survey showed.

 

Apple responds after Hannah Rose May's claim of being tracked by AirTag

After Irish actor and author Hannah Rose May claimed that she was tracked by an AirTag, tech giant Apple has responded by saying that it is "actively collaborating with law enforcement on all AirTag-related inquiries". However, the tech giant also stated that "AirTag incidents are rare," reports The Independent.

 

Britannia Industries' shareholders reject Rs 5,000 cr investment proposal

Britannia Industries' shareholders have voted against a resolution to authorise the board to make investments, give loans and provide guarantees of up to Rs 5,000 crore in the AGM concluded last week. The special resolution for approval to increase limits for making investments, loans, Special guarantees and security was "not Passed with requisite majority," said a regulatory filing from Britannia Industries on June 29, 2022.

 

Insurtech startup Ensuredit raises $4.2 mn from Cover Genius, others

Insurtech startup Ensuredit has raised USD 4.2 million (about Rs 33 crore) in a Pre-Series-A round led by Cover Genius, 9Unicorns, NexStep Discovery, CP Ventures, Venture Catalysts and IPV. Existing investors also participated in the current round, the Gurugram and Bengaluru-based startup said in a statement on Tuesday.

 

Delhi-Dubai flight diverted due to fuel indicator malfunction:

SpiceJet SpiceJet's Delhi-Dubai flight was on Tuesday diverted to Karachi as the fuel indicator started malfunctioning, officials of the aviation regulator DGCA said. This is at least the sixth incident of technical malfunction happening on SpiceJet aircraft in the last 17 days. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is investigating the Tuesday's incident, along with the previous five incidents, the officials noted.
