Kamdhenu demerges paints biz; to list new entity Kamdhenu Ventures in Q2

Kamdhenu Ltd on Monday said its paints business has been demerged into a separate entity following an order of the Chandigarh bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT)

Post demerger, Kamdhenu Ltd will continue to focus on steel business, while Kamdhenu Ventures Limited will expand the paints business. It is now looking to complete the listing process of newly-formed company in the July-September quarter, Kamdhenu Ltd said in a statement.

 

Kia Sonet surpasses cumulative sales milestone of 150,000 units in 2 years

Automaker Kia India on Monday said its compact SUV Kia Sonet has crossed the cumulative sales milestone of 1.5 lakh units since launch in September 2020. The model has contributed over 32 per cent of the company's total sales and commands almost 15 per cent share in the highly competitive compact SUV category, Kia India said in a statement.

 

Vedanta Ltd invites EoI to sell Sterlite Copper plant in Thoothukudi

Anil Agarwal-led Vedanta Ltd has invited Expression of Interest (EoI) from interested parties to sell its Sterlite Copper unit in Tamil Nadu’s Thoothukudi. The last day to submit the expression of interest is July 4. Vedanta has invited the bids in conjunction with Axis Capital. It was in May 2018 that 13 people were killed and around 102 left injured in a police firing at Thoothukudi, during a protest against the expansion of the plant. Following this, the smelter and refining complex was shut down. Sterlite Copper had claimed that the production halt at its Thoothukudi unit had led to a loss of over $1.2 billion to the country.

 

Air India prepares one of the largest aircraft deals in aviation history

Air India Ltd. is considering ordering as many as 300 narrowbody jets, according to people familiar with the matter, in what could be one of the largest orders in commercial aviation history as the formerly state-run airline looks to overhaul its fleet under new ownership.

The carrier may order Airbus SE’s A320neo family jets or Boeing Co.’s 737 Max models, or a mix of both, the people said, asking not to be identified because the discussions are confidential. A deal for 300 737 Max-10 jets could be worth $40.5 billion at sticker prices, although discounts are common in such large purchases.

 

VIL board meeting on Jun 22 to consider Rs 500-cr fundraising from promoter

Vodafone Idea's Board is scheduled to meet on June 22, to consider and approve a proposal for raising funds to the tune of Rs 500 crore. The fundraising will be through the issuance of equity shares or convertible warrants on a preferential basis to one or more entities belonging to Vodafone Group (one of the promoters of the company).

 

Mahindra Group announce to recruit Agniveers amid Agnipath protests

Saddened by the violence around the Agnipath scheme, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra on Monday announced to recruit "trained and capable" Agniveers.`Taking to Twitter, Anand said he is saddened by the violence around the Agnipath program.
