HCL Tech to hire 40,000-45,000 freshers for FY23 to meet attrition threat

HCL Technologies is doubling its fresher hiring for FY23 as attrition continues to inch up. The company said that it will hire 40,000-45,000 freshers for FY23, up from 20,000-22,000 target for FY22. The company also stated that to ease supply side constraints and to have access to diversified skills it is investing by expanding into other geographies over the next 3-4 quarters.

“Some of the geographies that we are investing to source talent include countries like Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Guatemala, Costa Rica. We are also ramping up our presence in Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand etc.

Tech Mahindra acquires 100% stake in European firm CTC for Rs 2,600 cr

IT company Tech Mahindra on Monday announced acquisition of 100 per cent stake in Europe-based Com tec Co IT (CTC) and 25 per cent stake in two IT platforms for a total of EUR 330 million (about Rs 2,800 crore).

The company said the acquisitions will strengthen its digital engineering and insurance technology businesses. The acquisition of CTC is the secondlargest acquisition that the company has made after scam-hit Satyam in April 2010.

Glenmark Pharma gets tentative FDA nod for generic Regadenoson injection

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals on Monday said its US arm has received tentative approval from the country's health regulator for its generic Regadenoson injection. Regadenoson injection is given during the preparation for a radiologic examination of blood flow through the heart to test for coronary artery disease

The tentative approval granted by the United States Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) to Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc, USA (Glenmark) is for Regadenoson Injection, 0.4 mg/5 mL (0.08 mg/mL) Single-Dose Pre-Filled Syringe, the company said in a statement.

Walmart reveals plans to enter blockchain-based Metaverse, sell NFTs

Amid the buzz around Metaverse, retail giant Walmart has revealed plans to enter the field of highly immersive virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR) and Blockchain-based world.

Walmart's trademark filings indicate that the company is looking to establish its own NFTs (non-fungible tokens) and cryptocurrency, reports CNBC.

HPCL to lift 45% more oil from Iraq to meet expanded refining capacity

Indian state refiner Hindustan Petroleum Corp will lift 45% more oil from Iraq this year to meet its expanded refining capacity, sources familiar with the matter said.

The refiner will buy 3.2 million tonnes or about 64,000 barrels per day (bpd) from Iraq this year, up from 44,000 bpd in 2021, they said.

Ultratech Cement Q3 consolidated net profit rises 8% to Rs 1,708 cr

Cement major Ultratech Cement on Monday reported 8% rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,708 crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2021. It was Rs 1,584 crore in the year-ago period. Consolidated net sales rose marginally to Rs 12,710 crore as compared to Rs 12,144 crore a year ago
