JSW Energy surges on signing wind turbine procurement contract with Senvion India

JSW Energy is currently trading at Rs. 389.00, up by 8.50 points or 2.23% from its previous closing of Rs. 380.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 389.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 391.80 and Rs. 382.00 respectively. So far 5595 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'T ' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 399.00 on 01-Oct-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 54.65 on 05-Oct-2020.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 399.00 and Rs. 367.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 62529.71 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.67%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 12.37% and 12.96% respectively.

JSW Energy has signed a contract with Senvion India, a leading manufacturer of wind turbines, for procurement of 591 MW of onshore wind turbines for the company's under-construction pipeline of renewable energy projects. The supply of the turbines from Senvion will start by the second quarter of CY2022. The turbines will produce enough green energy to meet the annual electricity requirements of more than 450,000 households in the country.

The company has set a target to reach 20 GW of power generation capacity by 2030, by when the share of renewables in its portfolio will increase to 85%. The ongoing projects are its first large scale wind power projects and it look forward to working with Senvion to achieve its completion targets.
