Canara Bank falls despite reporting 85% rise in Q4 consolidated net profit

Canara Bank is currently trading at Rs. 204.90, down by 14.30 points or 6.52% from its previous closing of Rs. 219.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 219.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 219.25 and Rs. 204.40 respectively. So far 254103 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 272.80 on 03-Feb-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 141.50 on 18-Jun-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 235.80 and Rs. 204.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 37597.85 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 62.93%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 22.09% and 14.97% respectively.

Canara Bank has reported a rise of 64.83% in its net profit at Rs 1,666.22 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2022 as compared to Rs 1,010.87 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank increased by 6.10% at Rs 22,323.11 crore for Q4FY22 as compared Rs 21,040.63 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

On the consolidated basis, the bank has reported a rise of 84.87% in its net profit at Rs 1,969.04 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 1,065.09 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank increased by 5.26% at Rs 24,518.42 crore for Q4FY22 as compared Rs 23,292.18 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

For the year ended March 31, 2022, the bank has reported over 2-fold jump in its net profit at Rs 5,678.42 crore as compared to Rs 2,557.58 crore for the previous year. Total income of the bank increased by 2.02% at Rs 85,907.15 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 84,204.78 crore for year ended March 31, 2021.

For the year ended March 31, 2022, on the consolidated basis, the bank has reported 2-fold jump in its net profit at Rs 5,795.10 crore as compared to Rs 2,701.98 crore for the previous year. Total income of the bank marginally increased by 0.98% at Rs 94,256.89 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 93,339.45 crore for year ended March 31, 2021
