CESC Q4 net profit down 4.07% at Rs 259.00 cr

The company reported standalone net profit of Rs 259.00 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2022 as compared to Rs 270.00 crore in the same period last year, registering a year-on-year decline of 4.07 per cent. Net revenue of the company declined marginally by 4.62 per cent at Rs 1,610.00 crore in January-March quarter of this fiscal as against Rs 1,688.00 crore in the corresponding period last year.
During January-March quarter, operating expenses increased by 4.06 per cent to Rs 1,434.00 crore from Rs 1,378.00 crore in year ago period. Other Income grew by 290.38 per cent at Rs 406.00 crore versus (Mar'21 Rs 104.00 crore). Operating Profit slipped by 43.23 per cent to Rs 176.00 crore as against Rs 310.00 crore in the year ago period, while Operating Profit Margin (OPM) contracted year-on-year to 40.47 per cent in March quarter. Interest grew by 1.56 per cent y-o-y to Rs 130.00 crore, while Taxation increased by 356.25 per cent at Rs 73.00 crore (Mar'21 Rs 16.00 crore).
