First of Its Kind Digital Stethoscopes for Hearing, Recording and Artificial Intelligence based diagnosis of patients launched

CDAC, Mohali, a Govt. institute and Aabo, a MedTech start-up of Mumbai, today announced the commercial launch of their digital stethoscopes - aaboOne, at an impressive function of foundation day celebrations of CDAC.  The first of its kind electronic digital stethoscopes technology is developed by CDAC, Mohali and are packaged with value additions, manufactured and branded as AaboOne by the MedTech partner.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Baldev Setia, Director PEC and the chief guest of the function, said that India has highly skewed doctor-patient ratio and such devices along with telemedicine will help reach healthcare to the remotest of Indian citizens.

Unveiling aaboOne - the convenient and sleek looking devices, the Executive Director of the institute, Dr. PK Khosla informed, “Stethoscope is one of the most widely used medical instrument and yet has remained largely untouched by new technologies. This new device not only provides amplification and recording of sound but also is suitable to be used for telemedicine and AI based automated diagnosis of diseases.” He said CDAC, Mohali was committed to address the needs of society with advanced technological interventions and public private partnerships.

Launching AaboOne series of his stethoscopes, Mr. Nirav Hemani, Founder and CEO, Aabo thanked CDAC, Mohali for wonderful technology. He informed that they have repackaged the technology in a user friendly shape and after extensive market analysis are ready with the first lot of products for sales in Indian markets. He further informed that the device can be used by a doctor to listen to sounds of the patient from about 10m with any bluetooth haedphones, without actually going near the patient. This is particularly useful in examination of Covid and related respiratory patients. He further explained his plans to make the device available for telemedicine and AI based automated remote diagnosis services for various sections of Indian population.

Dr. Vijayvergiya , an eminent cardiologist at PGIMER and guest of honour at the function tried the device and appreciated the sound quality of the device. Speaking on the occasion, he congratulated the CDAC team for achieving good quality in transmission of such feeble sounds and wished all the success to the AaboOne stethoscopes.
