U.S. economy can withstand Omicron surge, Fed tightening –Powell
Data showed the US inflation rate rose to 7% in December, the highest level since June 1982 and well above the Federal Reserve's target of 2%.
Powell said that the Fed is likely to begin the normalization of monetary policy this year, although he didn't give any hint on the timing of the first rate hike.
