Adani Power surges on planning to acquire DB Power

Adani Power is currently trading at Rs. 425.50, up by 13.30 points or 3.23% from its previous closing of Rs. 412.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 420.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 428.00 and Rs. 419.00 respectively. So far 977072 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 428.00 on 22-Aug-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 69.95 on 24-Aug-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 428.00 and Rs. 348.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 163090.66 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.97%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.56% and 7.47% respectively.

Adani Power has agreed to acquire DB Power, which owns and operates a running 2x600 MW thermal power plant at District Janjgir Champa in Chhattisgarh. DB Power has long and medium-term Power Purchase Agreements for 923.5 MW of its capacity, backed by Fuel Supply Agreements with Coal India, and has been operating its facilities profitably. The acquisition will help the Company to expand its offerings and operations in the thermal power sector in the state of Chhattisgarh.
