`Special for Chess…Historic`: Gold Champions on cloud nine after gold win at 45th Chess Olympiad

In the recently-concluded Chess Olympiad, India's men's and women's teams made history, securing gold medals for the first time in their respective categories and joining the elite company of countries to have pulled off a double of gold medals in the same edition of the competition. On winning gold medal in the 45th Chess Olympiad, Indian chess grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa said, “We have done something very historic, we won 2 gold medals...cricket is also very tough field...I don't think we should compare between sports, every sport is very difficult...” Indian chess grandmaster Tania Sachdev said, “I am overwhelmed right now...the hard work and training...it has been a lot but now what I am feeling after winning the gold and being on the podium, it has been worth...I believe that pressure is a privilege, if there is pressure on you then you are doing something good...”
Indian chess grandmaster Vantika Agrawal says, " I am so happy and excited that we could make this happen...it wasn't easy at all...we are happy that we could perform under pressure...I won many medals earlier as well...I used to come home and I had to tell everyone...I used to go to school and college and nobody knew but this time I told nobody that I won a medal but everyone was messaging me...PM Modi met us and interacted with us immediately after coming back from US...”
