Nifty

* Nifty traded volatile on the weekly expiry day and ended marginally lower.

* Mostly sectoral indices ended lower. Realty, pharma and FMCG edged lower while banking and financials capped damage.

* It is a healthy consolidation so far however volatility across sectors is keeping traders on their toes.

* Prudent to stay light and gradually accumulate quality stocks from banking, financials, FMCG and auto space.

Bank Nifty

* Banking index showed resilience and ended almost flat in a volatile trading session.

* Among the banking majors, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank and HDFC Bank were the top gainers.

* Indications are in the favor of prevailing consolidation to continue. A decline below 43400 may put more pressure.

* Within the private banking space, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank are looking firm on charts.
