The Indian Rupee was trading on stronger note against the greenback on Monday amid fresh selling of dollar by banks and exporters. However, the day’s gain was restricted by strong US jobs data which indicated recover in the world’s largest economy which dampened the Rupee sentiment. At the Interbank Foreign Exchange Market, the local currency was up by 06 paise to trade at 64.69 per dollar against a previous close of 64.75 per dollar at 13:45 hours.
In the day’s trade so far, the Rupee touched an intra-day high of 64.63 after making a positive opening at 64.70. Adding to it, strong trading across equity market also boosted the home currency’s upward movement. Meanwhile, the 30-share barometer SENSEX was trading at 31665.18, up by 304.55 points or by 0.97 per cent, and the NSE Nifty was at 9753.9, up by 88.1 points or by 0.91 per cent.
